Executive Builder · Operator · Experience Leader

I find the heartbeat of an organization, and I make it stronger.

Former President of Centricity, a shared-services company I built from zero to 100+ apartment communities. Before that, 20+ years at Campus Advantage in residential real estate, ending as Chief People Officer. Now open to my next executive assignment.

Build. Scale. Transform. Serve.

My titles have changed more than the work has. These four verbs are the clearest way to understand what I’ve spent my career doing.

01

Build

I like the moment when something important does not exist yet. I started ResidentAssistant.com as an undergraduate. At Campus Advantage I was the first employee and built the resident experience program from the ground up. I later built the company’s first enterprise learning function and its first integrated People & Culture function. At Centricity I led the build of the legal framework, org structure and operating model, then took it to market. It reached 100+ apartment communities and a 51-person team across the U.S. and India.

02

Scale

Growth changes the problem. I helped grow Campus Advantage from a couple of properties to about 700 employees across 40 properties and roughly 30,000 residents at its peak. At Centricity, my team supported HR for client companies ranging from 5 to 300 employees across multiple states, including about 2,500 hires in two and a half years. After I implemented EOS, our sales pipeline grew from $400K to $4M in five months.

Scale is a people challenge as much as a systems one.
03

Transform

I built a resident experience and student success platform that ran across Campus Advantage’s national portfolio, reached more than 250,000 residents, and was later implemented in an international consulting engagement. I also built and launched a customer service framework that increased resident retention, and a national onboarding and training curriculum that standardized how new hires and managers were developed.

04

Serve

When both parent companies were acquired, their priorities changed and Centricity was wound down. I had promised clients and staff a red carpet exit, and my team and I worked to deliver it. We supported every client’s move to new HR and accounting providers, kept their businesses running, and delivered final financials on the last day. We connected our people with recruiters, and I stayed in touch as they landed. Every client was successfully transitioned.

That’s the short version. Jerry has the rest!

Want to go deeper?

Meet Jerry, my agent.

Like the one in the movie, he has exactly one client. I built Jerry and named him after Jerry Maguire. He knows my career, my philosophy and the stories I tell. Ask what I’ve built, how I lead, what I’m looking for next, or how I think about AI.

Chat with Jerry first, then have the real conversation with me.

How I built this

Power tools, in the backyard and on the site.

I built a cedar pergola and screen with power tools. Hand tools would have taken me many times longer, and a saw demands respect: I once came close to losing fingers. I think about AI the same way. Used with judgment, training and guardrails, it removes friction and leaves more room for the work people do best.

I built the first version of this site on my iPhone over a weekend and have kept refining it. I can’t code. I defined the outcome, worked with AI and judged what came back.

What drives me

I’m a first-generation college student, and the RA job paid my room and board. I saw lives changing in that role, and that is what drives me. When I’m not working, I’m often rowing at sunrise, spending time with my family, building something out of cedar, or volunteering.

What’s next

Which seat depends on the company.

In a smaller, faster-growing company, that is President or CEO, the setting where I built Centricity. In an established company, it is a people and experience chief who owns strategy, culture and the link between employee and customer experience. Either way, I am a visionary. I see what an organization can become, set the direction and develop the people who make it real.

Hiring, or just curious?

I’m interested in organizations with a meaningful mission, a real problem to solve and enough ambition to rethink how people, experience, technology and performance fit together.
